Is that a Colorado in the background dwarfing the 50 year old fullsize truck?

Yup. That’s why trucks are the most American things ever, as generations pass they just keep getting fatter.

The midsize/compact ones, anyway. I need to snap a pic of my Suburban next to my co-worker’s. His is the last of the squarebodies- a 1991, mine is a GMT800 (2001), both are 3/4 ton, and are nearly identical in size. His actually looks a bit bigger due to the broad-shouldered squareness.
And don’t put the blame for model bloat solely on the Americans... I’m looking at you, Golf and Civic.

I’m leaning more towards 64/65, 62s had a different grille IIRC.

Lol no, I wish. It’s only an Amscot. This is the forbidden land of the Florida Man in the most forbidden area apart from Miami, it’s Kissimmee.
